Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 filming has already wrapped up and BDSY fans want to know all the details. From where superyacht Parsifal III set sail, to which cast members are returning from season 3, to when the first episode will be released on Bravo, die-hard fans need to know.
Every true BDSY fan knows the spinoff series didn’t hit its stride until the second season, when Captain Glenn Shepherd hired the trifecta of Chief Engineer Colin MacRae, First Officer Gary King, and Chief Stewardess Daisy Kelliher. On Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 3 the fun had by each department head returning for a second season together resulted in high ratings for the show.
It would be a no-brainer for BDSY production to bring back Gary, Daisy and Colin for a third season together under Captain Glenn. However, their star power demands higher pay than the typical Bravo earnings of Below Deck cast.
Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 4 Cast Members Returning
Although Bravo hasn’t released any information on Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4, evidence shows at least Glenn, Gary, and Daisy are returning!
An eagle-eyed Reddit user found a post of the regular Parsifal III private chef cooking food for the Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 crew before they started filming the season. Chef Roelz’s Instagram post on the announcement is from June 13, 2022.
At this period of time the Instagram accounts of Daisy, Gary, Colin and Captain Glenn went fairly quiet, with posts appearing to be old stock photos on their odd posts.
However, Captain Glenn did post a few Instagram photos of him on Parsifal III that all but confirm he was filming season 4. In the above Instagram post, Captain Glenn is wearing a new white Parsifal uniform. Yesterday, Daisy posted a story of her wearing the same white Parsifal shirt. Another post by Glenn shows him and Gary in new black Parsifal shirts, too.
Missing from the equation is Colin MacRae. Rumor has it the newly single chief engineer may not be returning for another season. However, he’s a top fan-favorite for his clever one-liners and stirring of the pot when Gary fools around with the female crew members. Colin’s YouTube channel Sailing Parlay Revival routinely posted new vlogs during the filming timeline of BDSY season 4. However, those could easily be old videos. Colin’s Instagram posts during that same time period were all stock photos, leaving some hope for fans he’s in the next season, and this time single! He had girlfriends in season 2 and 3 of BDSY, which left him to live “vicariously” through Gary on party nights. Colin also returned to his home of New Zealand for the first time in six years after Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 ended filming.
New fan-favorite Chef Marcos in recently sadly said he won’t be returning for another BDSY season. He cooked some of the best dishes on Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3, and fans will certainly miss him.
Fans will have to wait for future announcements on the rest of the BDSY season 4 crew.
Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 4’s Filming Dates & Location
On the Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 reunion aired on June 27, Captain Glenn was located in Corsica, France. However, the reunion episode was filmed earlier, as Daisy noted on her podcast Pita Party in an episode released on June 20. In the podcast episode, her and Gary appear to be staying in the same hotel. In the reunion episode, Gary and Daisy were also together at Daisy’s apartment in London, UK. The timeline suggests they were likely quarantining ahead of going to the Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 location, where Captain Glenn was located. By the middle of August Captain Glenn and Gary King appear again together in new Parsifal uniforms, but Captain Glenn told a fan he’s not currently filming a new season.
Thus, filming began around June 13 when the Parsifal III chef noted the new season was starting. A Below Deck charter season is six weeks, so Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 would have wrapped up filming sometime at the end of July.
In a post in late July, he posted a picture of him discussing the Portisco Marina in Sardinia, Italy. Glenn notes in his post he’s “spending some time here this summer,” which suggests the new season is filmed there. Sardinia is a region of Italy, and is the second largest island in the Mediterranean. On top of that, a BDSY fan on Reddit had a yacht tracker which had Parsifal III’s location at Portisco Marina on June 27, the time that they were filming season 4.
Another fan spotted the crew filming on Parsifal III in the Postrisco Marina.
Corsica, France, the island where Napoleon Bonaparte grew up, isn’t too far. Perhaps season 4 is filmed in both France and Italy this season.
The previous three seasons were filmed in the following locations in chronological order: Greece, Croatia, and Spain.
Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4’s Likely Release Date
Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4’s release date isn’t slated yet, but here’s a strong educated guess. The previous three seasons of BDSY premiered in late winter. BDSY season 1 first aired on February 3, 2020. The second season first aired on March 1, 2021. BDSY season 3 premiered on February 21, 2022.
Thus, fans can expect Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 to premiere sometime in February or early March in 2023. Also, the show may premiere a week early on the Peacock TV app, just like both Below Deck Down Under season 1 and Below Deck Med season 7.
