Below Deck first aired in July of 2013, and over that time the series has had a revolving door of cast members on the show. Among all the crew hired, producers were bound to recruit a few rebellious rapscallions getting in trouble with the law. Actually, for a 10-year-old show with four spin-off shows, the number of cast members arrested in the past is actually quite low. Only twelve cast members out of well over 100 yachties hired for the show have been taken into custody. Two spinoff shows have completely clean rap sheets, which will get to at the end of the piece. Here are all the 12 Below Deck cast members arrested for legal troubles in the past and their mug shots.
Below Deck Season 1’s Second Engineer C.J. Lebeau Was Arrested & Charged For Assault
C.J. Lebeau caused a stir on the Below Deck season 1 reunion episode. TMZ originally reported C.J. was arrested and charged with “intentional assault and defacing property (less than $250 worth)”. Police arrested C.J. after he allegedly got in a violent struggle with his then-fiancée according to TMZ.
“The charge was a misdemeanor assault,” C.J. told Andy Cohen on the reunion episode. “I’m glad you brought that up because I was actually the one who called the police that night. And I would and have never put my hands on a woman. You know, it was an escalated situation.”
“I had a fight with an ex girlfriend. I’m not engaged, I don’t have a girlfriend. I’m very much single. And yeah, it’s all being resolved right now.”
When Andy asked if the fight started after his ex saw him sharing a cabin with third stew Sam Orme on TV he said “something like that” and later, “yes”.
Police Arrested Below Deck Season 1’s Third Stew Sam Orme For DUI, Hit And Run & Other Charges
The bratty third stewardess Samantha Orme had a criminal record before she starred in the inaugural season of Below Deck. Nearly a decade prior, police arrested and charged Sam with “DUI, hit and run, and using someone else’s driver’s license” per reporting from Starcasm. Sam was 18 years-old attending Florida State University where she was studying electrical engineering. The incident took place in Tallahassee, Florida. It’s unclear what happened to the charges against Orme.
Below Deck Season 1’s Chief Stew Adrienne Gang Arrested For Battery
Below Deck season 1 had a lot of crew members who’ve run into legal troubles. OG Chief Stew Adrienne Gang openly discussed her arrest for battery of a taxi driver after getting roofied while out with girlfriends back in Dec. 2012. Adrienne says she blacked out and next thing she knew she was getting printed at a police station in Hillsborough County, Florida.
In a radio interview Adrienne said the police officer who took her drug test results said she was “lucky to be alive” from the amount of GHB someone spiked her drink with.
Out of all the Below Deck cast members arrested, Adrienne looks to be the least at fault.
Below Deck Chief Stew Kate Chastain Arrested For Domestic Battery By Strangulation & Violence
Adrienne’s successor and the most well-known Below Deck Chief Stew Kate Chastain also ran afoul the law. Police arrested Kate at her Melbourne Beach, Florida, home back in June 2016 after her then-girlfriend alleged the reality TV star physically attacked her in a “fit of rage”. The police report stated Kate bit her girlfriend in several spots on her body, caused multiple bruising, pulled her hair, put her knee on her head and “strangled” her. Kate’s girlfriend alleged she also held her against her will at the home. But Kate claimed she was the one who was held captive for three days.
Despite the criminal charges against her, Kate starred on Below Deck‘s following seasons. The charges against Kate were dropped in late 2017.
Below Deck Season 4 & 5 Deckhand Kyle Dixon Arrested For Robbing A Bar
Cops took Below Deck season 4 replacement deckhand Kyle Dixon into custody in 2016 for allegedly robbing a bar. Radar Online reported Kyle was arrested at Gatwick Airport upon returning from a trip to LA.
“I was marched off the plane in handcuffs,” Kyle told the publication in early 2017. “Last year I was helping a friend at a bar, and I was arrested on suspicion of stealing £8000 from the pub.”
There isn’t a publicly available mug shot of Kyle because it was a UK arrest.
Below Deck Season 5 Deckhand Baker Manning Arrested For Drug Possession
Lovable Below Deck season 5 deckhand Baker Manning got in some hot water before starring on the Bravo hit show. Charleston County police arrested Baker for drug possession after answering a noise complaint at a party, according to an exclusive report from Radar Online. Cops found and seized “91.13 grams of marijuana, a quantity of cocaine, and $790 in US Currency, due to its proximity to illegal narcotics.”
No mug shot of Baker is publicly available.
Below Deck Season 6 Deckhand Caroline Bedol Arrested For Larceny
Below Deck season 6 quitter and slacker Caroline Bedol was arrested and charged with larceny in Danbury, Connecticut, in June 2019. The alleged theft was of property under $500. The ex-stewardess previously had a warrant out for her arrest after she skipped two court dates in another court case involving her dog allegedly attacking another owner’s dog, according to Page Six.
There’s readily available mug shot of Caroline.
Below Deck Season 6 Bosun Ross Inia Arrested For Disorderly Intoxication & Battery
Party-boy bosun Ross Inia and Below Deck season 6 co-star Joao Franco were out drinking in West Palm Beach, Florida, a few days before Christmas in 2018 when an altercation arose. Cops arrested Ross for allegedly punching a police officer and threatening his family. The officers also charged Ross with disorderly intoxication. Joao and New Zealand-native Ross posted now-deleted videos of them drinking at Duffy’s Sports Grill before the incident transpired. Ross was held in custody for several hours before his release on $15,000 bond.
In early 2019 the felony charges against Ross were dropped to misdemeanors. It’s unclear how Ross’s case was resolved.
Below Deck Season 6 & 7 Deckhand Rhylee Gerber Arrested For Criminal Trespassing
Season 6 also had a high percentage of troublemaker Below Deck cast members arrested compared to other seasons.
Alaskan Below Deck star Rhylee Gerber was arrested in January 2018 for criminal trespassing according to Radar Online.
The trucker-mouthed fiery redhead from seasons 6 and 7 allegedly wouldn’t leave a property in Harris County, Texas, after being asked to leave. Criminal trespassing in Texas had a maximum penalty of a $500 fine or imprisonment up to six months.
Below Deck Season 8, 9 & 10 Chef Rachel Hargrove Arrested Multiple Times In Past
Speaking of redheads, Starcasm reported in late 2022 Below Deck star Chef Rachel Hargove has had previous legal troubles. In 2013, Rachel was arrested in Fort Lauderdale for allegedly trying to open the locked door of a K9 car to see the police dog. When a cop confronted her she was allegedly “very aggressive and belligerent”.
It also wasn’t Rachel’s first brush against the law. In 2002 at the age of 19 she was cited for providing alcohol to a minor but was later acquitted. In late 2006 Rachel was charged for DUI, property damage, and leaving an accident without giving information. She struck a plea deal in 2007 for the charge of reckless driving.
In the middle of 2022, Rachel blasted Bravo and Below Deck, announcing she was quitting the show. Chef Rachel stars in Below Deck season 10 because it was filmed prior to her falling out with the reality TV network. However, it remains unclear if the Below Deck producers gave her a bad edit on her final season due to her blasting the show.
Below Deck Mediterranean‘s Captain Sandy Yawn Arrested Multiple Times For Drinking & Driving
Captain Sandy Yawn is outspoken about her struggles with alcoholism in her younger life, most recently in her new book Be The Calm or Be The Storm. She also opened up to Lead Deckhand Travis Michalzik in season 4 about how her addiction led to her being jailed on more than one occasion in her early twenties.
“Sometimes I just wish I could have a glass of wine, but it’s like I can’t stop with one. I would have the whole bottle, then another one, then another one. It got me nowhere. Or, sometimes, incarcerated,” Captain Sandy said back in 2019. Captain Sandy further explained on the after show she “kept getting arrested for drinking and driving.” The Below Deck star woke up one day and decided to quit drinking completely. She’s been sober for over 30 years now.
There’s no readily available mug shot of Captain Sandy.
Police Arrested Below Deck Adventure‘s Fired Deckhand Kyle Dickard For
Below Deck Adventure‘s fired deckhand Kyle Dickard may be one of the least surprising Below Deck cast members arrested out of all the show’s alumni. The self-described Texan cowboy threatened to beat up co-star bunkmate Nathan Morley while filming in Norway.
Fort Lauderdale police arrested Kyle on Nov. 19, 2022, and charged him with disorderly conduct, resisting without violation, and bribery of a public servant. Kyle jumped onto the field of a soccer match between Colombia and Paraguay in the middle of the game. He bobbed and weaved as security and authorities tried to arrest him. Cops allege Kyle tried to bribe them with $300 to let him go once the had arrested him.
BDSY & Below Deck Down Under Don’t Have Any Cast Members With Arrest Record
As far as we know, Below Deck Sailing Yacht and Below Deck Down Under haven’t had any crew members with past arrest history. Despite all of the arrests of Below Deck cast members, most of the charges against them seem pretty minor in comparison to some other Bravolebrities. Just look at Real Housewives of Salt Lake City‘s Jen Shah’s conviction for her nationwide telemarketing scam. She was sentenced to six-and-a-half years in prison for her crimes. No Below Deck cast members arrested led to them getting significant jailtime like that.
