Below Deck: Camille Cheated On Ben Accusation Explained

Fired deckhand-stew Camille Lamb was thrown under the bus by her ex boyfriend and Below Deck season 10 co-star Ben Willoughby on the premiere of Below Deck season 11. Camille and Ben had a hot and heavy boatmance the previous season in St. Lucia. Despite Ben essentially already cheating on Camille by fooling around with replacement stewardess Leigh-Ann Smith at the latter part of season 10, he’s now claiming to be the wounded one. So, let’s take a closer look at the Camille cheated on Ben accusation. Also, if true, with who and when?

“Long story short, she cheated on me. I definitely don’t want to get as involved as I was last season. Maybe I’m wounded, and yeah. Maybe a little bit wiser. Jaded old man,” the lead deckhand said on the premiere episode of Below Deck season 11. No other explanation was included. Before that, he first recounted how they spent a romantic getaway in the Dominican Republic together, something the ex couple shared on Instagram after Below Deck season 10 ended.

“Dominican Republic was something we both needed to say the least, we genuinely had a spark [that was] comparable to that of a primary school crush. Sadly soon after we decided that this wasn’t meant to be and being honest that was a very tough pill to swallow,” Ben wrote in a joint statement in early 2023 announcing their breakup back in 2022.

“We are not together anymore in a perfect world it would have been something of a fairytale. We both organically fell in love with one another and had many, many memories to share throughout this whole Below Deck journey,” Ben added in the breakup statement. They broke up a few weeks after the DR trip which took place in early April, 2022, shortly after filming Below Deck season 10.

However, Ben spoke exclusively to E! News after the premiere of Below Deck season 11, saying, “Hindsight’s a beautiful thing, but it’s also a pain in the [bleep]. Looking back on it, going on almost two years now, I was way more invested than she was. You didn’t get to see a lot of the behind the scenes. It was very cute, it was very endearing our relationship, but then once the camera stopped, it was all her.”

He explained how he chased after her, flying from his home in Australia to be with her in Florida, only to get dumped shortly thereafter.

“I’d been in Australia for about two weeks and then I decided to fly back to see her because she was missing me,” the Aussie native recounted. “She said she really wanted to be with me in Florida, so I made the decision to head over to Florida. Got there and decided she wasn’t faithful. We’re not in touch anymore, but I think I got her at her best.”

Below Deck Season 10 Star Camille Cheated On Ben Accusation Explained

Camille responded on her Instagram admitting the cheating accusation leveled against her by Ben.

“[I’m] reading Ben’s new article about our breakup on Below Deck. And all of it is quite true… But Ben says I was cheating on him. At the end of the day I wasn’t his girlfriend. That’s number one. Two, he did come to Florida and then I decided I really wasn’t into a relationship [with him]. But at the end of the article, he decides to say something along the lines of, he got me at his best,” Camille said in her story.

“I can’t really reveal what I’ve got going on, but I’m not even going to try and convince people that that was not my best. I’m back baby, and I’m better than ever. Wait for the spring, because all this [bleep] is about to blow up in your face in a good way.” Fans can check out what Camille is up to in 2024 here. She didn’t elaborate on who she cheated on Ben with.

However, Captain Sandy Yawn did claim Camille was dating former Below Deck Med deckhand Bobby Giancola from seasons 1 and 2. Captain Sandy alleged Below Deck Med seasons 7 and 8 stewardess Natalya Scudder asked her for advice if she should date Bobby as he was pursuing her while still dating Camille. Fans will recall Natalya joined the list of Below Deck cast who quit the show.

Meanwhile, Ben stayed in Florida, heartbroken from the breakup with Camille in early 2022. He ended up rebounding and sharing a studio apartment with Leigh-Ann, starting a relationship. She even provided receipts of lots of pictures and video clips of them behaving like a couple together. Ben was even planning to come stay with Leigh-Ann back in her home county of South Africa. However, Leigh-Ann says he found a job and didn’t come, but that they remained in “close contact”. Leigh-Ann says Ben then ghosted her when Below Deck season 10 began airing in December of 2022. Ben then started filming Below Deck season 11 in Grenada while Below Deck season 10 was still airing on Bravo.

Ben Gets Accused Of Being Player Again On Below Deck Season 11

Ben responded by saying Leigh-Ann was too controlling.

“I had to cut her out of my life as my mental space was taking a toll. I needed space to actually have my own thoughts, make my own decisions [instead] of someone trying to force me to fall for them. I felt like I was gaslighted into thinking I was wrong for loving Camille and that’s not what someone who says they have [your] best interest at heart would do.”

On Below Deck season 11, Ben starts a boatmance with Quebecois-Canadian Marie Sunny Marquis. “I feel disrespected in many ways,” Sunny tells Ben after he apparently tried to pursue another girl. The self-described “stew slayer” was apparently grabbing another girl’s butt, which upset Sunny. Despite Ben’s player ways, it looks like Sunny and Ben may still be dating after the show.
