Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 deckhand Chase Lemacks is a hardworking southern gentleman who likes to think of himself as dependable. The Charleston, South Carolina, native despite his eagerness to do a good job doesn’t start off on the best foot with his boss, First Officer Gary King. However, the rest of the crew sailing on Parsifal III in Sardinia, Italy, enjoy Chase’s infectious positive attitude and hard work ethic. Here’s everything fans need to know about Chase from Below Deck Sailing Yacht.
Below Deck Sailing Yacht‘s Chase: Instagram, Age, Yachting Jobs, Travel, Tattoos, Family & More
As a true Southerner, Chase puts family, friends and God first. He’s very close with his best friend and older brother Dalton, as well as his mom, dad and grandma. He’s also built up a strong bond to his family’s pet Dachshund or wiener dog, Charlie. He posts a lot of videos and pics hanging out with Charlie. After finishing high school, Chase studied at Charleston Southern University for an undisclosed degree. Although Chase’s age isn’t available online, he recently said in a video he’s age 26.
After graduating from college, Chase sold all of his possessions in 2019 and moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida to train to become a yachtie. Before working on BDSY, he worked as a deckhand on 80 meter motor yacht Excellence.
From the show, Chase clearly prioritizes his physical fitness. He not only hits the gym regularly, but is also big into running races. Some fans have noted Chase’s multiple tattoos all over his one arm, shoulders and chest. Some of his tattoos include a sail ship, exotic flowers, a pineapple, bald eagle, and inspirational writing.
Before heading to university, devout Christian Chase did volunteer missionary work in the Dominican Republic.
Chase From Below Deck Sailing Yacht Becomes Good Friends With Other Cast Members
A few years ago, Chase went on an epic travel trip throughout Europe, Africa and Asia. He toured London, England, Paris, France, Switzerland, Morocco, Barcelona, Spain, Croatia, Ireland, Thailand, Bali, Indonesia, and Germany. The globetrotter with wanderlust has also been all over the Caribbean working as a yachtie. After filming BDSY season 4, Chase became good friends with other first-time cast members: Chef Ileisha Dell, Alex Propson, and Mads Herrera. The four of them rented an RV and did an epic road trip in California together. Some fans wonder if they were double-dating on the trip, because Mads and Alex made out in the season finale, and Chase and Ileisha flirted a lot throughout the charter season.
Chase even visited Ileisha in Australia for five weeks, working on the same yacht together and staying at her apartment in Sydney. Fans suspect she and her boyfriend broke up after the show and she may be dating Chase. However, more recently fans thought Chase and Mads were dating because they’ve been hanging out a lot.
Chase also appears to be an adrenaline junkie. Chase’s Instagram shows he likes to wrestle crocodiles, drive sports cars and his Jeep, skydive, snowmobile, and solo backpack traveling.

The deckhand says he’s in yachting to make lots of money in the hopes of retiring by age 30. Perhaps he should talk to the rich charter guests chartering the sailing yacht for financial advice, like BDSY guest and loud-mouth John Cerasani. Fans wanting to chip in to his retirement fund can buy a shoutout video from Chase’s cameo profile.
Some Below Deck fans have also noted how similar Chase looks to fellow Southerner and Below Deck Adventure star Kyle Dickard. However, where Kyle got fired for ridiculously bad behavior and arrested after the show, Chase helps give Southerners a good name again with his hard work ethic.
In June, Chase bought an old sailboat he’s working on refurbishing and sailing in the Caribbean. He’s launched a YouTube channel and intends to follow in Chief Engineer Colin MacRae‘s footsteps in documenting his sailing adventures, including crossing the Pacific Ocean. His videos on Instagram have already helped him gain 122,000 followers.
