Parsifal III‘s Chief Engineer Colin MacRae has been a fan-favorite ever since he first set sail with Captain Glenn Shephard on Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 2 in Croatia in the summer of 2020. The pony-tailed yachtie has a heart of gold, but also gets a kick out of stirring up drama by encouraging First Officer Gary King‘s womanizing exploits. That said, his fanning the flames of Gary’s philandering ended up backfiring when he found out Gary hooked up with Chief Stewardess Daisy Kelliher, someone he developed feelings for on Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4. Bravo warns that Colin’s niceness gets tested, and we may see a different side of a guy otherwise largely known as a closed book. Colin only worked on motor superyachts before working on Parsifal III. He quit his last job paying him $16,000 a month because he disliked the captain he worked under, and decided to work for himself. MacRae bought a hurricane-Irma damaged Catamaran (sailboat) in 2017 . He spent $240,000 buying the damaged vessel and documented restoring it. He spent his 13-years-of-engineering-on-superyachts money to invest in his Catamaran he said on the Alter Reality podcast.

“My first job on a superyacht was when I was 22 as the sole engineer on a little 110 footer in Malta,” Colin said in an Instagram post. Most of his yachting career he worked in fairly remote areas such as the Seychelles Islands or Indonesia.

Colin celebrated turning age 37 on October 30, 2022, alongside good friend and co-star Chief Stewerdess Daisy Kelliher. Although Colin and Daisy hooked up on BDSY season 4, it’s highly unlikely they’re still together. Colin’s zodiac sign is Scorpio, which explains his powerful and mysterious presence.
While not sailing, Colin also likes to scuba dive, surf, fish, and golf.
Despite their arguments on BDSY season 4, Colin and Gary are still great friends now. He’s also buddies with Chef Marcos Spaziani from season 3 (Instagram).
Like most sailors, Colin has many tattoos. He has two swallow birds on his chest, which represent sailing your first 5,000 miles. He also has a fish in waves covering his entire one arm, which his brother also has. Colin stands 5’10”. That makes him two inches taller than his mate Gary.

Colin quit smoking at the beginning of 2021 after smoking for 19 years. He started smoking when he was 16 while growing up in New Zealand. He decided to quit after a young fan and his dad came to shake his hand but were disgusted to see him smoking.

“I own my own Catamaran, and I run with about eight crews, so I have been a leader for quite some time. That part I was comfortable with,” MacRae said to Decider in an interview. After the Kiwi fixed up his Lagoon 450 Catamaran ($500,000 new) he sailed throughout the Caribbean. Since 2018, he’s sailed to over 25 countries and counting. He documents his adventures on his YouTube channel, Sailing Parlay Revival. Early on, Colin celebrated hitting 4,000 subscribers. By 2023, he and his crew now have 258,000 subscribers and some videos get over a million views.

Colin funds his adventures by making entertaining adventure content which generates ad revenue. The Parlay crew are also supported by Patreon subscribers who get opportunities to be chosen at random to come sail with the crew among other perks. They also sell Parlay Revival merch on their website.

He’s currently just sailed from Mexico to French Polynesia, which is 2,600 miles across the Pacific Ocean. On his crew he has a few gorgeous ladies, but so far it looks like Colin is still single since his last breakup.
Before dating Daisy, Colin had three long-term now ex girlfriends since starting to sail the open seas on Parlay. Colin’s Instagram shows he was was dating a beautiful Latina named Maria Romero in 2018 to 2019.

When he first starred in BDSY season 2, he was dating bombshell Argentinian and journalist Martinez Alvarez. While he was away filming, Martinez had to give Colin the bad news his one dog died.

In between filming season 2 and 3, the two broke up and then six weeks later he started dating, in his own words, “smoking hot” Italian Silvia Latini. Things fizzled out after MacRae returned from working on BDSY season 3 in Menorca, Spain.

Colin said even before he broke up with his first girlfriend he was getting a ton of DMs, even from married women, looking to link up. Since his most recent breakup he and his crew have had a revolving door of beautiful women aboard Parlay.

Colin last year finally went home to see his family in New Zealand for the first time in six years. He also got to see his brother’s newborn baby. Colin’s also close with his sister Monica, who he called for advice when he found out Daisy had a past with Gary.
