Captain Glenn Shephard continues to entertain Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans with his quirky comments, infectious positive attitude and kindness to his crew. But Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 required Captain G to show more of his tough-love side. No, he didn’t have to fire anyone like in BDSY season 3, when deckhand Tom Pearson negligently missed the anchor dragging and almost shipwrecked Parsifal III. But Captain Glenn did have to push Chief Stewardess Daisy Kelliher to keep reaching her full potential when ensnared in a love triangle involving Chief Engineer Colin MacRae and First Officer Gary King. Fans also find his Captain Glenn’s time alone on the boat searching for snacks and entertaining himself hilarious. So, what happened to Captain Glenn after BDSY season 4 finished?
Although the end of filming a BDSY season means most people go home, for Captain Glenn it means he goes back to his regular job of chartering guests aboard Parsifal III without cameras documenting the work and vacations happening aboard the ship. After filming BDSY season 4 in Sardinia, Italy, Captain Glenn, Gary and the rest of the sailing superyacht’s regular crew got back to work. After Sardinia, Captain Glenn and the crew worked charters in Sicily. Shortly after filming, the elegant sailboat could’ve almost sunk again. Captain Glenn said in August 2022 they hit a “mini hurricane thunderstorm, 45 knots winds and horizontal rain, with big rocks and little boats just behind us, just before daybreak on the north west coast of Salina.”

What Happened To Captain Glenn After Filming Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 4
Captain Glenn’s precarious travel didn’t end there. On a flight to London shortly thereafter, extreme winds cause major turbulence on the jet plane he was riding and forced a pilot to attempt landing three times. After a quick trip to London, Shephard returned to his own sailboat, Avalon, to sail around the coast of Italy, visiting stunning islands on his time off.

The seasoned world explorer sailed to Isola de ponza, the sea caves of Palmarola island, Lungomare di Gaeta, Ischia Castello Aragonese, Isola Di Procida, Capri, Positano, Isola di Stromboli (with an active volcano he viewed at night), and Lipari. Captain Glenn spotted Gary still working on Parsifal III for another captain while staying in Capri.
Captain Glenn then set sail for Greece, anchoring at Corfu, where the first season of BDSY was set. He then ended up in Logos, Paxos, a small island just south of Corfu.

Throughout his travels, Captain Glenn’s Instagram documents his travels like a travel blog. Before BDSY, he was camera shy and hated taking selfies, which he talked about in an earlier season of BDSY. Now he’s on a mission to document all the amazing experiences he has to share with family, friends and fans. His Instagram has blown up to a quarter million followers since becoming a travel blogger.

“My challenge now in life is to go to beautiful places and figure out how I can get my mug in front of them for a photo. Supposedly if my posts get enough likes, someone is going to start sending me free stuff,” Captain Glenn joked in one of his many posts where his captions tell little anecdotes of his latest adventures. “Trust me it’s not as easy as it sounds. Just now in front of Castello Aragonese d’Ischia. We arrived last night and anchored in the shadow of the Castle, there was a wedding at a waterfront hotel very close to the boat that ended with a great little fireworks display right in front of us, very cool.”

The BDSY star then ended up in France, where he took refresher courses for Ship Captain’s Medical. He then returned to Avalon again for more sailing adventures. After that, Captain Glenn flew out to NYC in the middle of October for BravoCon 2022, where he said he was treated like a rock star. He met Below Deck Mediterranean‘s Captain Sandy Yawn for the first time and reconnected with Daisy and Gary. The Canadian also got a chance to visit Niagara Falls for the first time in his life. A world wonder in his own backyard he hadn’t seen in his first 63 years, despite having wander lust his whole life. He also returned to his home city growing up, Montreal, Quebec. There He watched a Montreal Canadiens NHL hockey game and visited family.

He also got to meet up with “a sailing legend, SailGP Canada Skipper Phil Robertson” and others in the Canadian sail racing community while visiting Montreal.
Captain Glenn Reveals His Long-term Girlfriend & Will Return For BDSY Season 5
Throughout his travels, Captain Glenn also talked about his journeys by saying “we” often. Fans wondered if he was referring to him and his sailboat Avalon or using the royal we. But, sadly for fans with a crush on Captain Glenn, he was referring to his long-term Puerto Rican girlfriend Danelis “Dani” Jimenez. Near the end of the year he revealed they’ve been partners for the past five years and communicate to one another in Spanish. Now he often shares the selfie photo spotlight with Dani as they traveled through Europe in the first half of 2023.

In March 2023, Captain Glenn made a trip to LA to meet with Bravo TV execs alongside Gary and Colin. It looks like they were BDSY season 5 now filming in Ibiza, Spain. Shockingly, Colin didn’t rejoin the crew as part of the BDSY season 5 cast. Thankfully Captain Glenn, Daisy and Gary are all back, though. Also in March, Captain Glenn, an avid sailboat racing fan, got the joy of watching the Canadian team win a race. In April Captain Glenn returned to NYC to shoot a live episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen and Gary. After that, him and Dani continued to travel beautiful historical sites throughout Europe before he returned to captain Parsifal III yet again.
