Below Deck Down Under season 2 didn’t need anymore drama after deckhand Adam Kodra got fired, Joao Franco feuded with Culver Bradbury, and eye-candy new Lead Deckhand Luka Brunton joined the crew. Yet, a surprise medical emergency of charter guest Josh on Primary Charter Guest Tom Shelton’s group of macho men threw another wrench in Captain Jason Chamber’s plans to right the ship.
Tom, a highly successful property developer in Eastern Australia based in Melbourne, Victoria, and his longtime friends started drinking heavily aboard superyacht Northern Sun.
UPDATE: Josh’s medical emergency turned to be an epileptic seizure, which he sometimes has and his friends were aware of. The crew gave him oxygen and he was revived. Bravo released the first seven minutes of BDDU season 2’s episode 14 showing how the medical emergency was handled by the crew. New stewardess Jaimee Neale gave Culver Bradbury the silent treatment after he ignored her after she had to deal with the medical emergency. Instead he was flirting and giving attention to Chef Tzarina Mace-Ralph. Tom apologized for his friend’s seizure upsetting the crew and said it can be scary the first time you see it (suggesting his friend Josh has had a seizure in front of him before).

They requested a degustation menu inspired by Asian cuisine and marine life theme to complement the night after a day of boozing and snorkeling. Things took a potentially disastrous turn when Tom’s friend and fellow charter guest Josh had a seizure. His friends helped him to the ground and Captain Jason rushed to assist, bringing an oxygen tank. Episode 13 ended with Josh on the ground, apparently choking on some food from the tasting menu prepared by Chef Tzarina. However, tricky editing removed the context that Josh was actually convulsing due to his seizure.
The whole medical episode upset Aesha, who’s late brother used to seizure due to having brain tumors.

Fabs wondering if a charter guest actually died on Below Deck Down Under season 2. But even before the latest sneak peak, it was pretty obvious BDDU season 2 production team wouldn’t use his medical emergency as a cliffhanger for the next episode if things had ended up fatal. Fans hoped Josh came out of his ordeal on the show fine and enjoyed the rest of his charter. Unfortunately seizure sap a lot of energy from those they afflict, and he stayed in hospital to recover.
