While she isn’t as controversial as Roxanne Kaiser or Alex Chapman, Jeriah “Riah” Nelson has earned a few detractors. It’s mostly because of her partner, Trey Brunson, who is probably the most stable man in the season. Although Trey could try to be a bit more romantic, it’s clear Riah’s very high standards make that difficult. And, let’s not forget how angry she was at Trey for catching feels for Ryann McCracken even though she was into Brian Okoye for a minute. Riah is a 25-year-old living in Charleston, South Carolina, who works as a “Managing Server” for Hooters. She also models with MMG Model Talent and Celebrity Management. Her birthday is July 17, which means she is a sensitive but slightly flaky Cancer.

Riah’s Instagram, Twitter/X , and Riah’s TikTok are all important parts of her social media presence. However, she is near the bottom of the cast when follower counts are ranked. Riah is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a degree in journalism. She is financially secure enough to have purchased a white Mercedes Benz last year, which she has named “Winter.” Although she may not be that financially stable if she still lives by the manta, “If my card doesn’t decline, I’m fine.”
She has also experienced a lot of loss, including her parents’ divorce and a miscarriage two years ago. Growing up she spent a lot of time going to church because her mom is a reverend.
On September 2, 2023, Riah announced she was five-months pregnant with Trey’s baby. Her due date is in early January and she’s ecstatic to become a mom.

Riah’s older sister Shaquerra makes an appearance in Episode 7 of the season. Shaquerra’s Facebook profile reveals a few interesting details. We see that she was born in 1994, which means that she is 29 years of age, and her birthday is February 20th. This means she is a grounded Pisces, which fits with the real talk she gave Trey and her sister on the show. A mother of two and a licensed hair braider, Shaquerra, aka Coach Shaq, is very much into life coaching and putting out positive energy. She’s a hip-hop dancer and Zumba instructor, but for the purposes of the show, she put up a post 2 days ago where she calls Trey her “Bruh In Law.” That’s a very strong indicator that Trey and Riah got over their issues and got hitched.

Shaquerra and Riah get their drive from their mom, Jennifer Nelson Smith. Jennifer has a Masters in Pastoral Ministry from the Washington University of Virginia and also works as an RN. She obtained her RN degree from Excelsior University, which is an online institution in Albany, NY. Her ministry is Against the Grain Interdenominational Ministries in Salem, Virginia. Jennifer loves her two pit bulls, one of whom is named Cinnamon. Trey is Jennifer’s Facebook friend, and it is very unlikely that Jennifer and Trey would still be connected if things didn’t work out. Hopefully, Trey and Riah keep working on their issues after marriage.
