Big Brother season 25 houseguest Matt Klotz has a secret weapon going into the house. He can lip read with 100 percent accuracy what anyone’s saying. The other sixteen houseguests (yes, they added a 17th) better watch what they say out in the open, even if not within earshot. On the premier, Matt revealed he’s deaf. It took his parents noticing him not responding to their words at the age of two to know that he was born deaf. He took 14 years of speech therapy to learn how to talk. “I want to be a role model for the deaf community. I want them to be able to look up and realize that anything’s possible if you set your mind to it,” Matt said at the start of the show. “Being deaf can be a big advantage on the show because I learned how to lip read.”

Matt originally grew up in Cameron Park, California, but now lives in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Matt is a pro swimmer and gold medalist at the Deaflympics.
“I think what’s really going to surprise people is me being deaf. I am a ten-time Deaf Olympic gold medalist as well as five-time Deaf Olympic world-record holder.”
He even beats the US Olympic champs sometimes.
“My idol is Ryan Lochte and in 2019 I was able to beat him in the 100 meter back stroke. Was definitely my favorite moment.”
Matt’s Instagram reveals he likes to travel, wakeboard and snowboard. He also has a Hungarian background and likes to spend time with friends and family. Matt, age 27, is currently single.
Matt’s TikTok shows he likes to party, went to LSU, and enjoys surfing.

“When I get into the house, I’m definitely not going to let anyone know my little secret, which is lip reading, I can read anyone’s lips from far away or up close, and I’m not going to let them know that because that’s going to be a huge advantage for me. I’m ready to take on the challenge to prove to everyone that someone with a disability can win the game,” Matt said about his strategy going into the Big Brother house.
“I think on the challenges I will do very well on the physical ones, the very active ones.” However, Matt added he doesn’t want to win too many challenges because he doesn’t want to be perceived as too big a threat to the other competitors.
