Below Deck: Chef Rachel Starts Comedy Career & Yachting Job

Former Below Deck star Chef Rachel Hargrove recently started comedy training and is now performing standup sets at Dania Improv Comedy Theatre. Dania Beach is just south of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where many of the Below Deck stars live because it’s the yachting mecca in America.

Chef Rachel’s joke material involves her recounting some of the worst jobs she had before becoming a yacht chef. Her set includes recounting when she worked at Hooters and told off a creepy customer.

Hargrove started her comedy career after completing a charter season on superyacht Odessa at the start of April. Chef Rachel posted on her TikTok finishing the last meal with the rest of the interior crew.

Since then, Chef Rachel’s posted clips of her standup comedy she’s performing. She also created her own Open Mic Night at Bodega Taqueria y Tequila at South Beach every Wednesday night. Hargrove even created a new Instagram account promoting her new business venture, Comedy Rehab. Her material also recounts working as a yacht chef and cooking for billionaires.

“You’re pretty [bleeping] funny I would love to see you live. Let me know if you ever make it out to Southern California,” said one fan on Instagram.

“Pretty awesome to see you grinding it out at open mics, I’ve seen a lot of reality stars just try to cash in with standup and you’re putting in the work. Happy gigging to you and major props for hitting mics,” another fan added.

Back before Below Deck season 10 aired, Chef Rachel bashed Bravo and Below Deck, announcing she officially quit the show. However, she’d already filmed season 10, so fans still got watch her cook up a storm one more charter season.

Before officially quitting, Chef Rachel briefly quit Below Deck season 8 when Primary Charter Guest Bryan Guarnieri‘s ostentatious preference sheet ticked her off. Speaking of which, Bryan and married charter guests Craig Lowry Shreve and Wickliffe Shreve chartered Parsifal III in Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4. Hopefully they go easier on Chef Ileisha Dell and the crew this time around.

Although Hargrove just started a career as a comedian, she’s about to start another charter season. This time around she’s going to be working on a superyacht in New England for the summer.
