Below Deck Med season 8 started filming in Marina Molo Vecchio, where Captain Sandy Yawn greeted her new crew. Each season, the crew first meet aboard their superyacht’s home port for the charter season. Marina Molo Vecchio’s website states its Genova Old Port area of Genoa. The area offers “cafes, restaurants, shops, cinemas, a swimming pool in summer, a skating rink in winter, the famous Aquarium and, behind it, the biggest historic center of Europe.” The port has room for up to 47 superyachts.

The city offers an incredible rich history, museums, art, stunning architecture and divine cuisine. Here’s where the Below Deck Med season 8 crew and charter guests spent time in Genoa.
On the second episode, Captain Sandy took her friend, Primary Charter Guest Dr. Kian Karimi, and his group to Portofino, a stunning township that’s part of Genoa. Portofino is known for its stunning harbor and beautiful, colorful villas. The city was a popular vacation town for European aristocracy in the past. Now it’s a popular spot for the world’s jet-set class.

“Portofino is [bleeping] beautiful. Million-dollar boats everywhere. This is such a rare place, it’s just like the back of a postcard. Portofino means the home of the dolphins, so if they’re lucky, they may see some dolphins,” Bosun Luka Brunson said on episode 2.

Crew night number two, the gang went out to Banano Tsunami Ristorante Caperitivi, which serves Italian seafood, Mediterranean, and Ligurian. The restaurant doubles as a night club, too, where the crew drank and partied. Stew Jessika Asai partied so hard she missed the next charter, instead taking a visit to the doctor.
On the fifth episode, Captain Sandy took a Jack Ass star and other charter guests to Sestri Levante, which offers stunning views and a rich history, previously part of the Roman Empire.
