Below Deck Down Under season 2 fans weren’t impressed when Co-Primary Charter Guest Melissa Hagstrom told Service Stewardess Jaimee Neale not to worry about the Australian yachtie burning her orange designer dress, only to privately vent behind Jaimee’s back to her friend Taylor. Now fans labeled the charter guests fake for burned dress response on BDDU season 2.
“It’s fine. It’s no big deal. I look great in anything and it’s going to be fine. Nobody’s even going to notice. Pretend like it didn’t happen,” Melissa told Jaimee after seeing the iron burn mark.
However, she shortly thereafter excused herself to the restroom and her good friend Taylor followed.
“What a [bleeping] relief,” Jaimee said, thinking Melissa wasn’t mad.
“It’s got an iron print on it. It’s burnt, the whole thing,” Melissa said in her cabin, clearly not happy.
“Oh my god,” her friend Taylor said.
“I said, ‘It’s no big deal.'”
“I don’t want her to have my dress then. My [bleeping] Cult Gaia,” Taylor said.
“If that Cult Gaia gets ruined.”
“Mine? I will kill her.”
“Both of ours.”
“If she ruins my dress I will [bleeping] kill her,” Taylor said.
“But like I said, it’s okay.”
“They’re gonna be like these are the nicest people ever,” Taylor said.
“They’re gonna love us,” Melissa said back.
Fans Label Charter Guests For Burned Dress Mistake Response On Below Deck Down Under Season 2

Charter guest Melissa playing it off as if she didn’t care about her expensive designer dress being ruined by an iron burn when talking to Jaimee (Bravo).
Well, the sneaky camera crew caught them in a candid private moment. And perhaps the crew ended up loving them, but some BDDU season 2 fans certainly did not.
Fans found the group of middle-aged rich Californians to be phony and pretentious.
BDDU season 2 viewers voiced their distaste with two-faced response from Melissa and Taylor to the burned dress on Twitter/X.
The charter guest has every right to be upset about her dress, but to act like she’s okay, tell Jaimee that nobody has to know, etc. & then go behind closed doors to reveal her true feelings as she tells another guest about it is classic Orange County fake. #BelowDeckDownUnder

I knew Melissa wasn't ok with what happened to her dress. At least she didn't scream at Jamie though, I will admit I pegged her for being a screamer. At least she is just fake. #belowdeckdownunder

Meanwhile, other BDDU fans on Reddit were more shocked
“How on earth do they not have a steamer? That dress incident was an accident waiting to happen. The slightest breeze made that fabric suck up to that hot iron,” said one commenter.

Charter guest Taylor who Melissa vented to (Bravo).
“I can’t believe Jamie took an iron to that dress. She was trying to use it like the portable steamer. How did she get to acting chief, never mind second, and not know this? She’s trying to tell the guest that the steamer is in the iron which is not true!” another chimed in.
Either way, we’ll have to wait and see if the superyacht owner of Northern Sun covers the cost of the very expensive dress on the BDDU season 2 finale. For now, charter guests Melissa and Taylor have their Instagram accounts set to private.
