At the beginning of Below Deck Down Under season 2 Chief Stewardess Aesha Scott talked about how her and long-term boyfriend Scott “Scotty” Dobson were planning to buy a new home together. Although most yachties find it hard to maintain a relationship when working in remote locations away from home for many months of the year, Aesha and Scott are still going strong after three years together. The couple have lived in an old reconverted ambulance the past three years traveling America. So who’s Aesha’s boyfriend Scott Dobson exactly?
Scott surprised Aesha by visiting her on a crew day off while she was working charters in Cairns, Australia, in 2022 and shown on episode 11 of BDDU season 2. Both Scott and Aesha are New Zealanders, and Scott hails from the city of Tauranga, where his family owns a farm. “He’s independent, he’s adventurous, he’s my best friend in the whole world. I love him so much,” Aesha explained on the show. “He’s definitely, you know, he’s the person. We’ll get married and have kids and all of that, for sure, eventually,” she told Bravo. “I think we’re in just such a busy phase in our lives that we just, you know, there’s no rush.”

“His goal is to be a pro athlete, so he’s just made a short film that he’s entered into film festivals about his speed-flying and he’s wanting to work on a feature-length film next,” Aesha explained on the show for Scott’s work.
Scott’s Instagram shows he’s an adrenaline junkie loving extreme sports. Speed-flying is a mixture of paragliding and parachuting where the pilot descends very quickly and close to the ground, getting great shots of the mountainous terrain below. The sport is extremely dangerous because of the high risk involved in descending so close to the ground. Nearly 100 pilots have died in the past two decades from accidents. Scotty Dobbo, as he’s nicknamed, is also into mountain climbing, surfing, snowmobiling, snowboarding, dirt biking, and any other extreme sport he comes across.
The two met just before the pandemic and spent all of 2020 exploring America. Scott’s age 32 now, and celebrates his birthday on April 14, which makes his zodiac sign
“I was lucky enough to spend almost my whole year road tripping around the States making lifelong memories with this wonderful human. We decided to use the circumstances of cancelled work to our advantage and made lemonade out of lemons, and what an unforgettable adventure it turned out to be!!!” Aesha said.
The two plan to get a home back in Tauranga, New Zealand, once they’ve saved up enough money.

“Scott and I have been together for over two years now, and we’re planning to buy a house in New Zealand,” she said. “Because living in the converted ambulance has been lovely, but we would really like to poop in real toilets instead of in buckets. The next step in our relationship is flushing.”
