Although the exact production dates aren’t known, we know the couples’ social media went dark at the same time. The Ultimatum: Marry Or Move On experiment involves couples filming for seven weeks. The first week, couples spend together while they get to know the other couples involved in the experiment and date potential partners to swap with. They then decide to pick another partner to live with that person in a trial marriage for thee weeks. During this period they’ve broken up with their original partner. After three weeks are up of them living in an apartment rented by The Ultimatum‘s production team, the cast reunite with their original partners and try a trial marriage of three weeks in their original couples.
When Was The Ultimatum Season 2 Filmed In 2022?
All of The Ultimatum season 2 cast didn’t post anything after September 23, 2022 until November 27, 2022. The show filmed for seven weeks in the fall of 2022, so the timeline makes sense. The cast most likely started filming from the last week of September 2022 until near the end of November 2022. The fact the production crew put cast member Ryann McCracken’s age as 24, but ex boyfriend James Morris’s age at 23 while on the show further confirms this. Ryann turned 24 in September 2022, while James turned 24 in December. So filming happened between their birthdays.
The Ultimatum season 2’s star and prolific poster Roxanne Kaiser posted in the middle of September and then didn’t post again until December. Co-star Kat Shelton posted IG stories up until September 23, then stopped abruptly, until late November.

Thankfully the period before filming and airing the show has been significantly shortened from previous renewals by Netflix. The Ultimatum: Queer Love took a year-and-a-half from filming to finally get released. Netflix has previously taken flack from reality TV fans for taking too long, over a year, in post-production to release seasons.
Reality TV production company Kinetic Content, which also produces Love Is Blind and Married At First Sight, casted and filmed the show.
We’ll have to wait and see if Netflix pre-recorded The Ultimatum season 2’s reunion episode, which comes out on August 30th along with the finale. The Ultimatum: Queer Love pre-recorded its reunion episode months before the show aired on Netflix, so they didn’t get to respond to the audiences’ reactions and attacks. Meanwhile Love Is Blind season 4 had a disastrous “live” reunion that crashed and had a delay from its recording to when the audience could watch it.
