Brunette beauty Johnie Maraist is a wild card on Love Is Blind season 5. She caught the attention of both Chris Fox and Izzy Zapata for her impressive career as a lawyer and kind personality. Johnie hit it off most with Izzy, but it may be unrequited love. She may end up with her second choice. So, who is Johnie from Love Is Blind season 5?
Throughout the pod experience, Johnie was extremely vulnerable about picking bad relationships in the past. “To be honest I have a track record of crappy relationships. My last relationship was six months ago. But I just didn’t feel like I was in love with him to be honest.” Later on, Johnie revealed she only loved one ex boyfriend, who was an addict. She ended up marrying her rebound after her one true love, and while she was married to him she found out her ex had died. Her marriage broke down after that. “I dated a lot of people with addiction issues.”
Johnie also got herself caught in a messy situation when she told Chris she has a pattern of going for the emotionally unavailable men who excite her more. Meanwhile, she told Izzy she typically goes for the safe option, which results in her dissatisfied with her partner.

During the start of filming LIB season 5, Johnie said she was age 30 but turning age 31 in month. The show started filming in late March 2022, so Johnie is now 32 years-old.
Johnie’s Instagram shows she loves traveling to places like Turks and Caicos Islands, The Cove Atlantis, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Nevada, and most recently Alaska a month ago.
Johnie’s now removed LinkedIn states she worked at as a Corporate Transaction Lawyer at Latham & Watkins, a law firm in Houston, Texas. She doesn’t do trial work though, but typically reads over documents, as she mentioned on the show. Netflix’s Tudum claims she had “tremendous success” in her career, so she appears to be doing very well for herself.

Johnie’s family is big. “I’m one of six kids. I’m in the middle. I had a fairly normal upbringing. My parents are still together. My mom has always wanted a bunch of grandkids,” Johnie shared in the pods. She has a pet beagle dog named Barry. “My dog is my child.” Nothing is known about Johnie’s ex husband, but they divorced several years ago. The divorcee is now looking for a partner who demonstrates “intelligence, dependability, partnership.”
