The Ultimatum season 2 finale is out on Netflix and all the couples got engaged on the show. The men proposed with some very big diamond engagement rings to their significant others — and it left viewers wondering: Does The Ultimatum pay for the rings like the Love Is Blind production does?
Kinetic Content is the reality TV production company behind romance shows like Married At First Sight, Love Is Blind, Perfect Match, and The Ultimatum. In the case of Love Is Blind, the production company provides the men with rings. But it’s most likely the jewelry company actually foots the bill. The Bridal Rings Company gets special mention at the end of episodes of Netflix’s Love Is Blind episodes, suggesting it gets mention because it supplies the rings free of charge for the advertisement. The jewelry company’s website also advertises how it supplies the rings for the hit show.
The fact the credits on The Ultimatum season 2 don’t include mention of a ring supplier means a jewelry store almost certainly isn’t giving the rings to the show free of charge. Furthermore, the cast members have been dating for years on this show, unlike in Love Is Blind where potential partners haven’t even seen each other.

So Does The Ultimatum Pay For the Rings Or Do The Guys Buy The Engagement Rings?

Whether or not The Ultimatum production budgets for the expenses of the engagement rings isn’t entirely clear, but it looks very likely that the men buy the rings themselves. James Morris mentioned how he was going to reset the stones from his grandmother’s ring in a new band for his now-fiancée Ryann McCracken.
“I already have that ring that my grandmother gave me. And I know that I’m gonna pull the diamonds from that, have it set differently and probably added onto in some way,” James told Ryann at the beginning of The Ultimatum season 2.

The Ultimatum also doesn’t emphasize the rings at all like in Love Is Blind, which suggests the guys buy the engagement rings on their own. Honestly, it’s much more genuinely romantic that way anyway.
Poor Antonio Mattei must’ve been even more strapped for cash, though, after buying Roxanne Kaiser the big rock he proposed with that she didn’t even wear to The Ultimatum season 2 reunion episode. Fans thought Roxanne started wearing an engagement ring now. But it’s a different ring on her right ring finger!

In conclusion, a production company isn’t going to fork out money for rings if it doesn’t have to. Kinetic Content could certainly get a jewelry company to provide the rings free of charge if they promoted their engagement rings. Since The Ultimatum doesn’t give credit to a jewelry company it’s very likely the men buy the rings on their own.
