Big Brother 25 kicked off on CBS August 2 and 16 houseguests (now 17) with various backgrounds certainly made a lot of impressions on viewers. Sikh representative and turban-wearing Jag Bains is just one of a bunch of POCs who are part of the 25th anniversary cast. “I think representing my Sikh community is so important to me. You know, I wear a turban, this is how I represent myself every day, so to come to the show, be who I am. represent not only myself, but my family, my people, my community, means the world to me,” Jag said in his first impression interview before the game officially began and the houseguests entered the Big Brother house studio.

Jag’s Instagram is fairly new and doesn’t reveal a whole lot about him. Jag is part of the Sikh community in Omak, Washington, his hometown where he still lives and is a four-hour drive from Seattle. Sikhs are an ethnoreligious group or people originating from the Punjab region of India. If Jag doesn’t get evicted from the Big Brother house any time soon, fans will likely get to learn about the five Ks. The Kesh is the uncut long hair and turban worn to protect the head. The Kanga is a small comb Sikhs use twice daily to keep the hair clean. The Kacchera are undershorts each Sikh wears to help exercise control and the Kara is a steel bangle worn on the dominant arm of each Sikh. Finally, Sikhs carry a Kirpan (small dagger) as a symbolic reminder and duty to standup for the repressed.

Jag’s truck transport business is called White Falcon Transport he founded in 2022, according to his LinkedIn. Jag’s new Instagram profile also states he’s certified Washington State realtor, too. Before becoming an entrepreneur, Jag studied business administration at the University of Washington until he graduated in 2020.

“Oh yeah, I’m not going to tell them my occupation either. So I’m an entrepreneur, I own a gas truck company. I’m also in real estate and a realtor. I feel like some of those professions are easy to pin as cut-throat or super driven or might have some negative connotations that may paint a target on my back. What I’m going to tell everyone is that I’m substitute teacher and a Special Olympics coach, which is true, it’s just a partial truth because I don’t want to share everything else that I do,” Jag explained in his interview before entering the house.
“So I talked about playing a social game, which is important for me. Winning competitions when I need to. I’m not afraid to get blood on my hands. And the biggest thing is, in being social and sort of have this personality as being the jokester or I’m just super social with other people. I have charisma and stuff. I want people to think I’m airheaded or don’t really know what’s going on, but really I’m a secret genius and I want to keep that under wraps so people don’t know and want to get me out,” Jag explained about his strategy going into the game.
